I have never been better. Well rested and for once the universe isn’t conspiring against me and mine.
That’s a nice surprise. Blood burgers to celebrate?
Most definitely. It has been far too long.

Kitty, my dear. It has been too long. How are you?
there’s a donate button on my blog now because i have fallen past the point of no return and i’ve had to beat my pride into submission
sighs
if you know me you’ll know how vehemently against asking for or taking money i am personally
but you know
i’d rather not be homeless and dead
All right, so this dick of an OP thinks it’s guilt-tripping Tumblr if she reveals exactly how awful of a predicament she is in, so I’m going to roughly cover it for her.
Ava here is a lovely person in quite a predicament.
Recently her rent just went up a £475 hike because her landlord decided to be a Grade-A dick. He found a loophole in their tenancy agreement, which says that if their rent is above a certain level (£300), he can pass some of his tenancy renewal costs (£175) to them. Their rent is now a ridiculous £1300 a month. He’s doing it because he wants to demolish and rebuild things, then resell the property. Basically, he’s trying to force them out, and it has admittedly worked.
Ava’s currently living below the poverty line with her mum, and her mum can’t find a job that will take her, because the area’s low on jobs and she has impending lung cancer, which pushes her chances even lower. Ava’s been looking for jobs for three months and it’s even worse because so many young people are looking for jobs, so needless to say it’s been unsuccessful. She’s still looking for jobs, which means she’s have had to pull out of university because a job is more important. Pulling out of university means her benefits are cut, and that’s more much-needed money going down the drain.
Also, since the winter months are approaching, the companies brought up their bills by 33%. That is apparently a thing that happens automatically and makes me very angry.
Basically, she can’t afford this rent. She can’t even afford the cost of finding a new place to live. She can’t afford any of this stuff, basically.
She’s a dear friend of mine and I am pleading with you guys to help her, or at least signal boost. Since she’s an asswipe who finds it difficult to ask people for money, she won’t admit to the public that some weeks she can’t afford food and has had to cut off heating on the brink of winter. But I really, really don’t want her on the streets in a dubious neighbourhood in the middle of winter, so I’m pleading Tumblr for help on her behalf.
There’s a donate button on her blog, and if you kind people could spare something or reblog this post, you have my eternal gratitude.
Oh, were I offended, you would have known. But you do not need to apologize, that was over four hundred years ago. I do not lie when I say it is a wound that still hurts; our kind is not known to be the most emotionally attached to our kin.
I have lived for many years, my lord. I have seen good warriors and good people come and gone. And good friends, too. Whether they be in Hel or Valhalla, I am afraid I have lost count. The pain ne’er quite goes away; it can dull, but it cannot disappear.

There are certain expectations of my people, my dear. One being that we are heartless. I generally save the heart wrenching stories for those outside of my kind. We don’t generally choose to show sorrow.
To recall every reason would take a lifetime. The short of it, he had murdered my mother and my mortal siblings as a birthday present for my sixteenth year. The long of it, he has failed to progress our people. We had remained stagnant and persecuted. His rule was ineffective. I wanted what was best for my people… and myself.
[She averts her gaze.] … I am sorry for thy loss, Xarus, and I am more sorrier for my shock before. I did not know. I had been presumptuous, and I am sorry if I had offended thee.

You look shocked. Had you any idea what that man had put me through, his people through… I did what was necessary.
‘Tis not e’eryday one hears of such things… [It takes every fiber in the Lady Sif’s being not to speak out of turn. She has no right to question his actions and no place to judge upon them. And yet, her heart weighs heavily. The loyalty to one’s ruler, to one’s kin, is something Sif prides herself in. The shield maiden could never even think of disobeying the All-Father—not unless she had a good reason for it. She understands that there are exceptions. In the past, even she had broken her own oath—but that was to find Thor, to save him. It was different. But could this, too, have been different? Perhaps.] If I may be so bold as to ask, I wouldst like to know what happened, Lord Xarus.
